Beyond Basic Coverage

All security companies in the State of Nevada are legally required to maintain an active insurance policy at all times, with at least $100,000 in liability coverage. Civil Security Service is fully licensed and insured, with all required security registrations and liability coverage.

Civil Security Service is insured for ten times the required minimum; up to $1 million per incident, plus a $2 million general aggregate. Documentation is available upon request.

While insurance requirements establish minimum protection standards, liability exposure in security situations extends beyond simple coverage amounts. Several factors determine how well a security provider protects clients from potential legal and financial risks:

  • Proper licensing and training - Officers must maintain current certifications and follow prescribed best practices
  • Documentation standards - Accurate incident reporting and evidence preservation are crucial for legal proceedings
  • Equipment and vehicle maintenance - Regular inspections and proper equipment reduce negligence exposure
  • Response protocols - Clear procedures for different situations help ensure appropriate actions
  • Ongoing compliance monitoring - Regular audits and updates maintain legal standards
  • Claims support and coordination - Professional assistance during incident investigations and insurance claims

Common Liability Risks

Property owners face several liability scenarios where security provider standards matter. Inadequate officer training can lead to excessive force claims or improper evidence handling. Poor documentation makes it difficult to defend against false claims or establish facts during litigation. Unlicensed or improperly insured security providers can leave clients exposed when incidents occur.

Courts and insurance companies evaluate whether property owners exercised "reasonable care" in selecting security providers. This includes verifying proper licensing, adequate insurance coverage, and professional training standards.

NVCSS Standards

Our liability protection approach addresses these risk factors through comprehensive training, detailed documentation procedures, and regular compliance monitoring. Officers receive ongoing education on legal protocols, de-escalation techniques, and proper reporting procedures. All incidents are documented thoroughly with supporting evidence when available.

This systematic approach helps protect clients by ensuring security services meet professional standards that courts and insurance companies expect.
