Focused, bespoke threat mitigation for individuals.
For individuals facing threats to their personal safety and well-being, Civil Security Service can assign personal protective details to mitigate the danger.
Security details require a minimum of one to two officers per protected individual, drawn from our highest-ranking personnel.*
*While close protection details are only assigned to Level IV officers, secondary teams may include Level III officers.
Close protection details are used by people from all walks of life to mitigate threats to their safety. Here's just a few examples:
In addition to these examples, close protection details are also often assigned to families, children, and loved ones as a precaution.
Protective details are tailored to fit the lifestyle and day-to-day preferences of the "principal," e.g. the individual being protected. Officers assigned to close protection can be in uniform or dressed in plainclothes with all equipment concealed when total discretion is required. Similarly, unmarked "stock" vehicles can be used to maintain a low profile during transport.
Details accompany their principal as they go about their regular activities, keeping a watchful eye out for potential threats and remaining close but unobtrusive. In an emergency situation, their top priority is to evacuate the principal to safety.
There's more to safety than just physical protection.
Officers assigned to close protection details are specially trained to be mindful of their principal's emotional needs and watch for potential agitators. When needed, they can take the actions necessary to prevent embarrassment or reputational damage.
For individuals facing elevated and/or specific threats to their safety, additional measures are available to mitigate the danger.
An advance team consists of officers whose sole responsibility is anticipating the movements of the principal. They travel to locations before the principal to ensure the route is clear and, once at the destination, scout for potential threats.
A secondary team can maintain a secure environment while the principal is present, detecting and intercepting potential threats as early as possible. These officers maintain a low profile, so while a principal may appear to have only one or two officers protecting them, many more are actually present, working silently in the background.
Multiple vehicles, whether marked or unmarked, operate in conjunction to protect the principal's vehicle in transit, using secure radio and cellular communications to get updates from the advance team. If a perimeter team is present, they'll be part of the convoy as well, adding another layer of security.
All of the same protective measures taken to safeguard a principal in public can also be applied to the home, preserving the tranquility of a peaceful environment after a long day of activity.
When you choose Civil Security Service for VIP protection, we work closely with you and/or other principals to develop a complete understanding of what's needed and the specific threat environment. No two assignments are ever the same — of all the security services we offer, protection details are by far our most bespoke.
NVCSS maintains high service quality by matching personnel classifications to the anticipated capabilities the role will need. We will not give assignments to personnel if its requirements exceeds their training or ability to respond, nor will we assign personnel that lack the appropriate qualifications.
Civil Security Service maintains four distinct personnel classes, each with their own standards and requirements:
